What Causes Green Hair DermTV 5
Green hair is pretty common at the New YorkCity St. Patrick's Day parade, and some people even dye their hair greenall year long as a fashion statement. But others develop green hair accidentallywithout hair dye. Today, I'll tell you the cause and how totreat it. Hello, I'm Neal Schultz pause And welcome to DermTV.
The culprit is exposure of hair to high levelsof copper. Yes, what causes hair to look green is literallycopper coating hair shafts. And this is much more common in people with blond, chemically lightened, grey orwhite hair. The two most common situations in which thisoccurs are usage of regular tap water in the shower orbath, and also from swimming pools. Additionally, copper coatings on the surfaceof the hair shafts
which cause the green coloration. These coatings are much more apt to occur if the cuticle of the hair has been damaged, whether by frequent hot air drying, sun exposure, chlorine exposure, peroxide bleaching, or chemical straightening. High copper levels in tap water are usuallycaused by copper leaching out from old copper pipes in thehouse despite the copper levels in the water beingnormal
before the water enters the home plumbingsystem. And high copper levels can also occur naturallyin hard well water. Green hair from swimming pools is not causeddirectly by the chlorine. Instead, while chlorine damages the cuticlemaking it more susceptible to copper coating, the chlorine itself doesn't turn the hairgreen. Again it's excess copper coating on the hair, either from high levels in the water put intothe pool, or from old copper pipes going to the pool
or most commonly from copper algaecides usedto kill algae in swimming pools. If your hair does turn green, you can removethe discoloration easily by using a shampoo that chelates the metal, which is just a chemists way of saying removingit. Ask your dermatologist or hair dresser forrecommendations. Ss green hair is most apt to occur when damaged, light colored hair is exposed to elevatedcopper levels in water. But interestingly, if you consistently drinkwater with too much copper
causing elevated copper levels inside yourbody and inside the hair shaft, the hair doesn't turn green. If you want to know why, ask Kermit.

The steps that I go through daily,on how I keep my underarms sexy. That's the word,we're gonna use for this tutorial. The second thing I'm gonna do,is show you guys some tips, and
tricks on how to keep your underarms sexy. OkayéThis is gonna be fun. I know, that most of you guyslike do it yourselves, so, I'm gonna include some do ityourself tips in there, as well. If you have like OCD over the colorof your armpits, don't worry, everyone's armpits are at least one shadedarker than like the rest of their skin. It's pretty normal, you know, unless yourlike really, really, really, really lucky, or really, really, really young.

So, don't worry about that, okayé It's not like people are gonna thinkthat your Big Foot, or freaky, or scary. Calm your nerves, girl, or guy! Guys, question of the day. Do you prefer a girl to shave her armpits,or to noté
LAUGH Do you like it au naturelé You can be honest here. All right. MUSIC Let's get started. The first step in myunderarm care routine. This is very important. I need one of these little buffingpads in my shower at all times.
And, what I do with this is, with soap andwater, I just gently, buff away any leftover deodorant, any lint, maybe, from the clothing that I had on. Just any buildup from the day of,I need to get rid off, cuz not only do I think that's one ofthe main causes for dark underarms. But I feel like, it's one ofthe main causes for odor as well, when you have too much buildup, accumulating under your arms. Then after my armpits are squeaky clean,I grab my razor. Now, I shave instead of wax because I havethin hair that grows under my arms, and
it's just been working for me for years. I don't really feel the need to wax. But, I do feel the need to always havea new blade on my razor at all times. I change it probably like onceevery week and a half, I would say. Once you notice that the razor is pulling, and not cutting your underarm hair, you wanna get rid of that blade immediatelybecause if you're cutting the pore or damaging your underarms, when it heals,it can come back darker. Also I kinda get these bumps undermy arms when I use a dull blade.
